What is Reflexology

Reflexology is a mind/body/spirit modality. A complementary, holistic therapy, it is based on the principle that all of the systems of the body are mapped out in reflex points on the feet (also the hands and ears). Reflexology is not massage (although it feels amazing)!

The gentle manipulation of reflexes on the feet restores harmony and balance within the body. Working the various reflex points can help in so many different areas. It can reduce stress and anxiety, improve circulation, lower blood pressure, promote better sleep, relieve chronic pain. My clients always leave me feeling relaxed and balanced. 

 

What can Reflexology help?

Reflexology promotes healing and wellness, relieves pain, reduces stress and anxiety, improves circulation and increases functions of the immune system.

I have clients that have been living with digestive issues, chronic pain, sleep issues and more. After regular treatments, sometimes almost immediately, they begin to see improvement.

How often should I receive Reflexology?

Just like massage, or getting a pedicure or manicure, Reflexology should be part of your monthly self-care routine, to keep your body in balance and rejuvenate your mind and spirit. Of course, if you are dealing with an ongoing issue or injury, I would recommend more frequent treatments until you get your systems back into balance.

 

What is Reiki

Reiki (Ray-Key) means Universal Life Energy – the healing energy of the universe. Reiki is an ancient, gentle, hands-on healing art that facilitates deep relaxation, relieves pain and promotes healing and personal growth. Reiki stimulates your body’s innate healing resources.

We live in a world of energy, and when there is an energetic block, this can affect all areas of our lives. When the energy is moving freely, there is balance and harmony in and around us.

 

What does Reiki feel like?

Clients may or may not feel sensations during a Reiki Session. Some people feel sensations of heat, tingling, or experience seeing colors. Sometimes there can be an emotional response or release, indicating that shifts are taking place, allowing harmony to be restored.

What are the benefits of Reiki?

A Reiki session may help ease tension and stress and may help support the body to facilitate an environment for healing on all levels- physical, emotional and spiritual. A session is pleasant and relaxing and is most often utilized for one’s own personal wellness.

Are there any side effects?

Both Reiki or Reflexology are both forms of holistic therapy promoting relaxation and there are very few (if any) side effects. Immediately following a session, you may feel completely relaxed or alert and refreshed. The majority of my clients report they sleep better, but on occasion the opposite is true, as your body works its way back to balance. Because Reflexology promotes the flushing of toxins from the body, more frequent trips to the bathroom may occur.
